Green Tea Effects on Liver Disease

A study examined 600 people in May 2004 found:
•A link between caffeine intake and a reduced incidence of liver damage
•Those who drank larger quantities of green tea were less likely to develop liver disease
•The mechanism for this protection is that caffeine blocks a receptor in the liver that may have protective properties.
